Dear parents and families,

Welcome!
I must begin by sending a huge warm welcome to our many new families. The new additions to our wonderful ´BCG family´ have already impressed us in such a short space of time. It has been lovely to see new pupils paired with ´class buddies´ and get to know life in the Primary school. Thank you to all the buddies who have helped our new children.

My Teaching Highlights
This week, I had the great pleasure of working with groups of children in Year 1. We read together and I was super impressed by their reading skills. We learned some new words together and had fun sounding them out. Another special highlight is teaching English in Year 6. Seeing them devour the great book we are studying fills my heart with joy. They have really blossomed amidst recent challenges and are more Year 7 ready than ever!

Staff Professional Development
In our weekly staff meeting this week, the EYFS and Primary team took part in some training to help us better support the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils. It was very interesting and got us all thinking about how important it is to look after ourselves too. We will be taking part in what we are calling the BCG Listening Project. We look forward to sharing updates about this with you soon.

"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."

Finally, I wanted to end with a note on loss which I know will resonate with some of our staff and parents this week. Whether we lose a precious toy, a much loved home, a person we hold dear, the compassion and support we give each other is what really helps us through.  Thank you to all the staff and community who have supported each other, people they know well, new families, teachers,  through difficult times. It is what we at BCG do best.

Wishing you a lovely weekend
