Finally it looks like the good weather has arrived in Gavà and we can make great use of our wonderful outdoors spaces again. The last few weeks have seen lots of exciting trips with the Year 5s going to the Olympic Museum, The Year 4s had a great time at the zoo and the Year 5s to Year 9s went to a Musical Theatre trip with the music and drama students in Secondary.
While I am on the subject, I would strongly encourage you to get your tickets for `Annie the Musical´ which promises to be a fantastic occasion. So much hard work has gone into the production and I would like to wish everyone involved all the very best for the final weeks running up to this exciting show.
We sent a Year 6 and a mixed Year 4 and 5 team to BSB last week to take part in a netball competition. Our Year 6 team were drawing 2-2 until the final 2 minutes of play when an extremely tall opposition player snuck in 3 goals to end the match 5-2. We would ask you all to ensure that your children grow 30cm before the return match!. Our younger, mixed Year 4 and 5 squad had an amazing 5-1 victory. It is so good to see so many sports teams competing this year.
The Enrichment Activities programme has now been shared. Please sign up early to ensure you can reserve your places!
Students have been very busy with assessments and mock exams, while teachers have been busy preparing and marking them. Reports will be going out over the coming days and I would encourage you to spend some time with your children to discuss them and help them prepare for the summer term. I would like to congratulate the Year 11 and 13 students on taking the recent mock examinations very seriously. The exam etiquette was exemplary and I am sure the whole experience will prove to have been extremely beneficial to them.
The IBDP students have been on a different timetable since Monday as it has been their 'Reflection Week'. One of the many activities they have done was their Group 4 Science Project which they have clearly all found great fun and very rewarding.
It has been so good to have the teachers back from the UK as well as the arrival of the excellent Miss O'Connor (yes, another Miss O'Connor) to teach in Year 6. The children have been so happy to see their teachers and have had an excellent week.
We took advantage of the sunshine to take the Yearbook photos this week. If anyone missed it there will be one last chance after the school break.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Ukrainian families and hope that they can already feel the warmth and caring nature of the BCG Community.
Thank you all for your continued support and wish you all a very peaceful Easter holiday.
