Throughout July, the British College of Gavá organises a thriving summer school which attracts a high attendance from students travelling from all around the world. The summer school operates a dual programme with morning activities being delivered by the fully qualified British teachers of the British College of Gavá. In the afternoon qualified sports coaches and arts/crafts leaders take over.
Once weekly participants spend a morning out on the beach with a local watersports company that provides exciting opportunities such as kayaking, stand up paddle board, sailing and windsurf as well as team-building games on the beach. The week finishes with a grand presentation for parents during which students show off their achievements.

Activities included in the programme are as follows:
Join the fully qualified BCG teachers for fun and interactive English lessons first thing each morning. Participants will be graded by level ensuring that first time English speakers are able to learn the basics while advanced and native speakers have their skills applied appropriately. While focussed on grammar and vocabulary, activities will be fun and interactive making best use of interactive whiteboards, speaking opportunities and fun games. Progress guaranteed!
Learn how to get the best out of our iMacs and iPads during these ICT projects. Learn the basics of how to use a piece of software each week before testing out your skills and creating something of your own.
Each week the lead teacher will choose a theme. Learn through the investigative approach finding out key facts, carrying out experiments and presenting learning in a creative way at the end of each week.
Join our fully qualified music teacher to have fun learning to play a variety of musical instruments as well as singing. Each week the class will engage in a project to present a piece of music at a special presentation on the Friday afternoon.
Join our scientific expert who will lead participants through an exciting project learning how to create and program robots. Work as a team in the most creative way using your technological skills.
Design & Technology Projects
At the start of the week participants will receive a ‘design brief’. By the end of the week they will have met the brief by engaging in research, creating ideas, manufacturing a product and evaluating before presenting to the other groups.
Develop speaking and listening skills as well as creative talents working with one of our specialised English teachers. Take part in fun challenges and games before working on a mini-performance to show the other groups at the end of the week.
Each afternoon relax and engage in a variety of sports; a different one each day. Participate in practices, fun games and even some competitions. Make good use of our brand new 3rd generation football pitch, basketball court and beach volleyball court protected by the shade of the pine trees.
Get creative each afternoon by engaging in fun art activities developing skills in a variety of areas. Once finished participants will of course take their creations home.
